Medicare Patients – Important 2026 Insurance Update
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has announced changes to Medicare costs for 2026 that may affect your financial responsibility at the start of the new year.
Medicare Part B (Medical Insurance) – 2026
The standard monthly premium for Medicare Part B is $202.90, an increase from $185 in 2025.
The annual Part B deductible is $283, up from $257 in 2025.
Please be aware that deductibles reset annually on January 1, and the financial responsibility associated with services rendered at Nassau Sports Care may be affected by these changes depending on your specific plan.
While our office makes every effort to provide clarity and education regarding annual insurance changes, it is ultimately the patient’s responsibility to understand their individual insurance benefits, deductibles, and out-of-pocket requirements.
Additional Medicare Considerations
Patients with higher incomes may be subject to an Income-Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA), which is an additional surcharge applied to the standard Part B premium.
IRMAA amounts are calculated annually and are based on adjusted gross income (AGI) from two years prior.
Medicare Part A (Hospital Insurance)
Medicare Part A costs will also increase in 2026, including the inpatient hospital deductible, which is expected to rise to approximately $1,736.
If you have questions regarding how these changes may impact your care or financial responsibility, we encourage you to contact Medicare directly or review your annual Medicare notice. Our administrative team is always happy to help explain how insurance benefits are applied to services rendered at our facility.
Important Insurance Update for All Patients – Effective January 1, 2026
Please be advised that most insurance plans reset deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums annually on January 1. As a result, patients may experience changes in their financial responsibility beginning 01/01/2026, regardless of whether their course of treatment began in 2025.
For patients whose care started in 2025 and is continuing into 2026, previously met deductibles or out-of-pocket maximums do not carry over into the new benefit year. This may result in increased patient responsibility for services rendered after January 1, 2026, depending on the specifics of your insurance plan.
While Nassau Sports Care makes every effort to verify benefits and provide estimates when possible, insurance coverage and cost-sharing are determined by the individual insurance plan, and it remains the patient’s responsibility to understand their benefits, including deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and out-of-pocket maximums.
We strongly encourage all patients to contact their insurance carrier directly to review their 2026 benefits and confirm how ongoing treatment may be affected. Our administrative team is always available to help explain how insurance benefits are applied to services provided at our office.
